Those using AT&T email and Yahoo email on a single email address will have to log into both their email addresses separately because both companies have decided to unmerge their email services. Check out the full story below!
After a long association of AT&T and Yahoo to support SBCGlobal Email, both companies have now decided to get separated from each other. This step has been taken in the backdrop of security, which was dipping in the past few months. In order to improve security for email customers, both AT&T and Yahoo email accounts will not work separately. Customers using AT&T email will have its own email inbox, whereas Yahoo email users will their own separate inbox.
There are a few important changes that have been made, which we think must be told the customers.
Question 1: Why my AT&T email inbox empty? Are all my emails have been deleted or disappeared?
In case you have an email account that you merged a long time ago in which all your emails, folders and contacts are there, then those won’t be deleted or disappear on their own. When your email accounts got separated, then that information remained within your Yahoo email account and is going to be located in the Yahoo inbox.
Question 2: Is it possible to restore all the contacts that were present in my AT&T email account?
Yes, it is possible, and for that, you will have to sign into your Yahoo email account and then, follow the steps for exporting your Yahoo contacts. Once you export all your Yahoo contacts, you will have to sign into your AT&T email account and follow the instructions. Import a saved .vcf or .csv contact list file on the same page.
What’s a merged email account and who is going to bear the brunt of it?
An email account can be called a merged account if you add the details of one email account into another, so as to access both email accounts from a single email account. In this case, we are talking about AT&T email account and Yahoo email account. Both email accounts were merged into one email account with one inbox to access. With this, you get the ability to sign into any of your email ID, whether it is AT&T or Yahoo with a single password, which is going to be managed by AT&T. This will make doing work a lot easier and convenient.
With the separation of Yahoo and AT&T email accounts, people will have to access these emails separately, i.e., by signing into each account separately.
What is the process to know if I had a merged email account?
You can easily find out if you were having a merged email account. You can follow below-mentioned steps in order to do so:
